End of Life Guidance and Support

Tending To What Matters

Whether you are facing your own death or that of someone you love, whether you carry a long-held fear of dying or simply feel it is time to begin preparing, this is a space to slow down and tend to what matters.

Together we might explore your concerns, hopes and questions, talk through practical decisions, or gently attend to what needs care on a physical, emotional or spiritual level. There is no fixed shape to this work.

We find the pace, the conversation and the support that are right for you.

This work is for anyone who wants to approach the end of life with greater openness, understanding and choice - whether that is your own journey or someone else's.

A space for honest conversations

Some of the most important conversations are often the hardest to begin. This is a place where you can say the things you may not have felt able to say elsewhere. We can speak openly about fear, grief, hopes, regrets, uncertainty or the longing for things to be different. Whatever you may be experiencing, we begin wherever you are, with whatever is present - everything is welcome.

Tending to what matters

As we approach the end of life, our attention often turns to what feels unfinished, what feels precious and what we most want the people we love to know. Together we can explore what feels important to say, do or simply acknowledge, creating space for reflection and connection, without rushing towards resolution.

Thoughtful planning

Practical preparation can be one of the greatest gifts we leave to ourselves and to those we love. Whether you're thinking about advance care planning, future wishes, funeral choices, lasting power of attorney or simply wanting greater understanding about the options available to you, I can support you in finding a manageable way through it - one step at a time.

Understanding the journey

Drawing on many years as a palliative care nurse, I can help you understand what may lie ahead. Knowing more about the process of dying, what choices are available and what support exists often helps to ease fear and brings a greater sense of confidence and agency.

In all my years of working in this field, I have been struck again and again by the same quiet truth: conversations about death almost always become conversations about life - how we live, how we love, what we value and what nourishes us.

Talking about our mortality can feel daunting at first, but there is often a profound freedom that comes from it. We begin to live with greater awareness, make choices that feel more deeply aligned with who we are, and discover that preparing for death is, in many ways, an invitation to live with greater intention and authenticity.

How We Might Work Together

There is no prescribed way to approach this work. You may come with something very specific you want to talk through, or simply a sense that you need some space to think, feel and make sense of what is happening and what is needed.

We might work by exploring your thoughts, feelings, questions and wishes. Some sessions may centre on practical matters - your lasting power of attorney, advance care planning, funeral wishes, or simply making sense of the choices ahead. Others may be traversing through the more emotional or spiritual landscape - grief, fear, regret, love, meaning, or the questions that don't have easy answers. Most often, the two are woven together, since the practical and the personal rarely stay separate when we are turning towards the end of life.

There may be times when it feels right to include the wider family - creating space for shared conversations and helping everyone to find their way through what can be a complex and tender time.

Our work might include conversation, reflection, writing or embodied practices depending on what feels appropriate and supportive for you. We will find the right balance together, always at your pace and guided by what you need.

I usually offer sessions in person from my quiet home therapy room.  We can also meet online if this is more practical for you.  Where it's geographically possible, I may also be able to visit you at home.

However we choose to work, the shape of it is something we find together, at a pace that feels right for you.

“Grace’s experience of supporting people through difficult times has helped me understand my feelings and recognise the different emotions I experience as I move through my journey. She never makes me feel that there is a “right” way to feel or grieve, but instead helps me listen to myself and accept whatever I am feeling.”

“Her beautiful, comfortable therapy space, in her home, adds to the feeling of warmth and tranquillity. On occasions when I have arrived carrying a lot of physical tension she has offered massage, which I found deeply relaxing and helpful.”

“I have always felt listened to, respected and completely at ease with Grace. I would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a compassionate and experienced therapist, particularly anyone navigating the difficult journey of grief.”

When we begin to speak about death, we often discover what matters most about life
