Terms and Conditions
About these terms
These terms and conditions set out the basis on which I provide my services. They are intended to make the practical arrangements around our work clear and straightforward, so that we both know what to expect.
By booking any service, event or course with Grace Loveday, you are agreeing to these terms.
All offerings are provided with care, integrity and respect.
Participation in any offering is voluntary, and you remain responsible for your own wellbeing, choices and actions at all times.
These terms sit alongside your legal rights as a consumer.
Please also read the Privacy Policy, which explains how personal data is collected, used and safeguarded.
My services
I offer a range of services including somatic bodywork, embodied self enquiry, end of life guidance and support, meditation, rituals and ceremonies.
Each service is described more fully on the relevant page of this website. The nature, duration, location and fee for the service you engage with, will be agreed with you at the time of booking.
My work is intended to offer compassionate support, embodied exploration, companionship, reflection and practical guidance. It is not a substitute for medical treatment, psychotherapy, counselling, legal advice or other specialist professional services.
Where I feel that another form of support would better meet your needs, I may suggest that you seek help from an appropriately qualified professional.
Booking and confirmation
A booking is confirmed once we have agreed the date, time, nature of the service and the fee.
For bespoke ceremonies and other work, such as group events, that involves preparation in advance, I may ask for a deposit or advance payment. Any such arrangement will be discussed and agreed with you beforehand.
I reserve the right to decline a booking where I do not feel that the service I offer is appropriate to your needs, or where I am unable to provide the service safely or appropriately.
Attendance and safety
I reserve the right to decide who attends an event or retreat, in order to support the safety and wellbeing of all participants.
Participation is at your own risk. You are responsible for assessing whether an event or retreat is suitable for you.
Fees and payment
Details of current fees can be found on the relevant service page.
Where a service is offered on a sliding scale, I invite you to choose a fee that feels both affordable and sustainable for you. I recognise that circumstances can change, and this may vary from time to time.
Payment arrangements will depend on the service and will be explained at the time of booking.
For one-to-one sessions, payment is generally due at the end of the session unless we have agreed otherwise.
For ceremonies, workshops and other bespoke services, payment arrangements will be agreed with you in advance.
Any additional costs, such as travel expenses, venue costs or other agreed expenses, will be discussed with you before they are incurred.
Changes or cancellations
I understand that circumstances change and that sometimes appointments need to be rearranged.
Cancellation by you
For one-to-one sessions, I ask that you give me at least 24 hours' notice if you need to change or cancel an appointment. Where less notice is given, I may ask you to pay the full fee, although I will always take individual circumstances into account.
For workshops and group events
If you cancel more than four weeks before the start date, you will receive a full refund minus any non-refundable deposit.
If you cancel within four weeks of the event, a refund will be offered only if your place can be filled from a waiting list, unless otherwise agreed.
Transfer to another event may be possible at discretion.
Cancellation by me
If I need to cancel or rearrange a one-to-one appointment, I will give you as much notice as possible and will offer an alternative appointment where appropriate.
If an event or retreat is cancelled, you will be offered either a full refund or the option to transfer to an alternative event.
Ceremonies and bespoke work
Ceremonies are individually created, involving time spent listening, preparing, writing and, where appropriate, liaising with family members, venues and others involved. Before work begins, we will agree the nature of the ceremony, the fee and any additional costs.
If the arrangements change and this involves significant additional time or expense, I will discuss this with you before proceeding.
If you need to cancel, any cancellation charge will reflect the work already undertaken and costs reasonably incurred.
Bodywork and health
If you are booking bodywork, it is important that you let me know about any health conditions, injuries, recent surgery, pregnancy, medications or other circumstances that may be relevant to your treatment.
I may ask you some questions before or during a session to ensure that the work is appropriate and can be offered safely.
You are always free to ask questions, change your mind, pause or stop any aspect of a session.
My bodywork is complementary in nature and is not intended to diagnose or treat medical conditions. If I have concerns about whether bodywork is appropriate for you, I may recommend that you seek advice from your GP or another suitably qualified healthcare professional.
Mailing list and communication
When you make a booking, sign up for an event, or register interest in an offering, you may be added to my mailing list so that relevant information relating to your booking or participation can be shared with you.
You can unsubscribe at any time, or update your email preferences, by contacting me or using the links provided in emails you receive.
Unsubscribing from the email list may affect your access to event updates or communications.
Confidentiality
The nature of confidentiality for one-to-one work is set out in my Working Together Agreement.
I treat what you share with me as confidential. There are limited circumstances where confidentiality may need to be set aside, including serious concerns about the safety of you or another person, or safeguarding concerns relating to a child or vulnerable adult.
Wherever possible, I would discuss any concerns and the next steps with you first.
My responsibilities
I will provide my services with reasonable care and skill and will do my best to create a safe, respectful and professional environment.
I will be honest about the nature and limits of my work and will not knowingly provide a service that falls outside my training, experience or appropriate scope of practice.
Your responsibilities
I ask that you provide information that is relevant to the service you are booking and let me know about anything that may affect our ability to work together safely and appropriately.
I also ask that you treat our shared space, whether in person or online, with respect and consideration.
If we need to end our work
Either of us may decide that a particular service or ongoing piece of work is no longer appropriate.
Where possible, I will discuss this with you and, if helpful, suggest other sources of support.
For ongoing one-to-one work, the arrangements for ending our work are set out in the Working Together Agreement.
Concerns or complaints
I hope that anyone who works with me feels able to raise a concern if something does not feel right.
If you are unhappy with any aspect of my service, please contact me directly so that we have an opportunity to understand what has happened and see whether it can be resolved.
If a concern cannot be resolved informally, I will provide information about the next steps for making a formal complaint.
Changes to these terms
I may occasionally update these terms to reflect changes to my services or to relevant legal or regulatory requirements.
Any changes will not retrospectively alter arrangements that we have already agreed unless this is required by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
